Our Mission
Our mission is to enable and maximize Independence for persons with disabilities and include their families.
How we deliver on that mission is as follows:
- We find and collaborate with the most qualified and certified Ski & Ride Schools and Instructors
- We seek grants and funding used for:
- Individuals and their close family/caregivers to get PSIA Ski and Ride Lessons
- Equipment to be used for lessons
- Reduce participation barriers: Transportation, Family Inclusion, Food and other expenses
- Where appropriate, we partner with other 501c3 Charities that demonstrate a commitment to enable and maximize Independence for persons with disabilities.
Some people prefer coaching that empowers them and their family towards maximized independence.
This is our Mission and our Value.
We can use your help!
We are looking for:
- Sources of Grants and Funding where we work with the provider to ensure that the beneficiaries meet the donors specific requirements and the donor has full transparency to the benefits they enabled.
- A CPA to help us navigate and stay completely compliant and transparent with our operation's and all regulations
- Donations to help us fund our operational expenses, while low, these costs are currently coming out of personal funds.
- Donations to fund Apparel and Swag
Professional Qualifications
Jim Szczygiel our Founder has been actively involved in teaching Adaptive Snow Sports for Independence since 2000 and specifically Alpine Adaptive programs since 2014.
Jim has experience with:
- 1:1 Coaching at local ski areas
- Local Nordic Coach for US Paralympic Athletes
- The National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic
- At least 4 US based 501c3 Adaptive Charities
- Life long care giver for family members whom are disabled
- Living with disabilities
Jim is an Active member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) with Current Multiple Certifications and CEU's in the areas of:
- Adaptive Ski Instruction
- Alpine Skiing
- Telemark Skiing
- Cross Country Skiing
Jim is also:
- a life long caregiver for family members with disabilities
- a Mutli-Time Ironman Finisher
- a USBA Biathlete
- an Eagle Scout
- A brother, father and grandfather
